In Year 5, we focus on a range of important geographical topics. They allow us to study both physical and human geography in depth. In the Autumn term, we study mountains and learn about how they are formed. We study mountains of the UK and then compare them to the Alps.This topic allows us to develop our geography knowledge and skills. 

In the Spring term, we learn about rivers and water systems. We learn about the lake district and focus on the weather. Whilst learning about this, we also making comparisons to the weather in our local area. 

In the Summer term, we learn about Egypt. We investigate its the climate and important physical features. We link our learning to our history topic which is the Ancient Egyptians.
