Year 5

Year 5 have been applying their Maths skills in Geography

On Monday 10th October, four children from Year 5 were selected to represent Telford Junior School at the annual Maths Challenge at Princethorpe College. 38 teams of children from local schools took part and each pair had to work together to solve a range of Maths puzzles. The children attacked the challenges with confidence and positivity and achieved great results with Bee and Evie coming 7th and Seb and George coming 20th. A great morning!

Year 5 Maths Challenge 2021

On Monday 14th October, Maya, Isabelle, Edward and Robert from Y5 represented our school in a Maths Challenge event held at Princethorpe College. The children had to work in pairs to solve a series of challenges within a time limit and were competing against 10 other local schools. I was very proud of how well the children worked together and they were excellent representatives for Telford Junior School. Congratulations to Maya and Isabelle who came in 3rd place!

On Thursday 18th November 44 children across Year 5 and 6 took part in the annual Primary Maths Challenge. This is a national competition which involves the children answering 25 questions. There was a lot of head scratching and sighing as some of the questions were very tricky but the children did very well!

Congratulations to our Gold certificate winners: Henry, Adriana, Jenson and Barney
