We are currently introducing 'Language Angels' as our new scheme to our whole school to give the children and staff a perspective of our vision and proposed trajectory of how the children's learning of Spanish demonstrates progression through Key Stage Two.

As a school, we strive to give every child an opportunity to practise modern foreign languages through speaking, listening, reading and writing skills at an Early Teaching Level in Year 3 and 4. Towards the end of Year 4, the children should be secure at a basic level with the confidence to move onto the Intermediate part of the programme and this will be continued throughout Year 5.

By the end of Year 6, the children should be able to recall numbers to 100, hold a simple Spanish conversation and understand some grammatical tenses in preparation for secondary school.

Alongside learning the main criteria for MFL in line with the National Curriculum, each year group will be assigned topic areas which coincide with their other subjects, thus providing the children with an enriched and cross curricular experience.
